Autism Spectrum Conditions- Masking versus Coping

22nd March 2022 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

£175

‘Masking’ is a description frequently used when describing the presentation of children on the autism spectrum, particularly girls, often where behaviour appears significantly different in school to at home.  This training will:

  • Help school staff understand and identify masking behaviour and frame it on a continuum of coping.
  • Provide scripts and ways to discuss this potentially challenging context with parents to establish a shared understanding
  • Establish effective ways forward for helping pupils build tolerance and learn to cope in sustainable ways.

Delivered by Dr Lise Griffiths and Dr Gemma Slack
